Lagos State Traffic Management Authority
PROFILE OF MR. OREAGBA BOLAJI
Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, was born on the 29th November, 1966 and hails from Ikorodu, Lagos State. He holds a Master’s Degree in Transport Planning & Management and has attended several capacity-building programmes on inter-modal traffic management systems locally and internationally. He is a charter member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and has qualification in Public Administration. He joined the State Public Service on the 8th December, 1993, where he worked with the Lagos State Government’s Traffic outfit; the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) and Traffic Management System (TMS) when the Ministry was then called Ministry of Works and Transport and later Ministry of Public Transportation. On establishment of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) under the administration of the then, Lagos State Governor; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the year 2000, Mr. Oreagba Bolaji, was among the pioneer members of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) who built the zonal structure from Three (3) zones under the pioneer General Manager; Engineer Adegboyega Coker to the existing Forty-Three (43) zones and BRT command.
In his sojourn with Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) he steered the affairs of several zones as a Zonal Head, before becoming an Area Commander in a number of area commands, after which he rose to the post of a Baker (2i/c Director of Operations) and later appointed Director of Operations in the year 2016.
While in the capacity of the Director of Operations, He served as a member of several committees such as;
• Member, Transport and Security Committee on Lagos City Access Marathon,
• Member, Planning and Organizing of One Lagos Festival (Fiesta),
• Member, Planning Committee of France Presidential visit to Lagos State,
• Member, Planning Committee on the visit of Prince Charles of Wales to Lagos,
• Member, Traffic Committee for the Rehabilitation of Third Mainland Bridge,
• Member, Security and Traffic Management Committee for the inaugural ceremony of the present Lagos State Government, amongst several others.
In recognition of his meritorious and selfless service to the state, an award tagged “PRODUCTIVITY ORDER OF MERIT- SENIOR CATEGORY” was presented to him by the Head of Service (Lagos State Civil Service) on the 23rd July, 2020.
On the 14th September, 2021, he was appointed as the substantive General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) by Mr Governor.
